our history
Located in the heart of La Rochelle, Hôtel Les Gens de Mer is ideally situated. Close to the train station, the Old Port and the Espace Encan, and just a stone's throw from the shops, this emblematic establishment is an integral part of the city's urban heritage.
Built in the 1960s by La Rochelle architect Pierre Grizet, it is a perfect illustration of the modern architecture of the time. Originally designed as a home for sailors, the building was transformed into a hotel at the end of the XXᵉ century. Now the Hôtel “Les Gens de Mer”, it was completely renovated in 2007.
